Stained Glass Bezel

This project is my attempt to replicate the look of stained glass windows.

I'm going to use EnviroTex Lite for this project along with resin colorants in transparent yellow, red, blue, and green.

I started by adding a background to my bezel.
My bezel is 1 inch so a background is easily added by using a paper punch.
I glued it down with Glossy Accents and also sealed the top with it.

I'm using EnviroTex Lite this time because this project is shallow and I'm doing 2 pours.
This can also be done with EasyCast if that's what you have on hand.

Mix up a small batch of resin and fill the bezel halfway full.
*ETI recommends wearing gloves for your safety* Gloves also help keep your nails nice!

Let the resin set in the bezel for about an hour to "gel"
This is when the resin gets a little bit thicker but is still workable.
I'm using a mold as a paint pallet to make my colorant more accessible.

Using a toothpick, begin adding color to the bezel.
As the next drop of color is added it will push the others around a little.

Continue adding color until you're happy with it.

You can also swirl the color around a little to your liking.
Let this set for at least 24 hour before continuing.

This is pretty as it is if you wanted to stop here an let it finish hardening but I wanted it to be a bit more like the windows.

To replicate the lead lining of the windows I'm using a Sharpie to line each different color area.

Once the line around the color were added, I also went around the inner edge with the Sharpie.

I mixed up another batch of EnviroTex Lite and finished filling the bezel to seal in the Sharpie and to create a nice dome.
Let this set for an additional 24-72 hours to harden.

All you need to turn this into a necklace is a jumpring and some pliers.

Now you have a wearable window!

I love how the colors blend to create the purple, orange, and aqua! And each one of these will be one of a kind!
