The Hobbit Inspired Resin

Have you seen The Hobbit yet? It is so good and will be out on DVD on the 5th! The sequel is going to be in theaters next month and is something I wouldn't want to miss! This project reminded me of The Shire.  Sweet, simple, and inspired by nature.

I started by mixing a batch of EasyCast Resin and coloring it brown. I added a little bit of the opalescent  coloring to add shimmer.
*ETI recommends wearing gloves for your safety* Gloves also help keep your nails nice!

I poured it into the heart cavities of the Wilton Fondant and Gum Paste Baroque Mold and letset for 24-72 hours until hardened.

I decided to make it into a pin using a Tie Tack and E-6000...

I added E-6000 to the tack...

And pressed to the back of the piece in the most hidden place I could find!
Let set for 24 hour for maximum adhesion.

It has a little peek of gold hidden on one side but then so does Bilbo in his pocketsess!!
