Fall-ow me into Autumn Day 7 Real Leaves in Resin Jewelry Set

Welcome back for the last day of my Fall-ow me into Autumn Series!
This has been super fun and I hope that I've inspired you to get your resin on!
Today I'm showing you how to create a gift set that features real leaves embedded in resin!

For this project I used EasyCast Resin, Castin' Crafts Mold Release, a dried leaf, a leaf-shaper paper punch and 2 different jewelry molds.

Punch out some leaf shapes from the dried leaf...

Spray your mold(s) with mold release and mix up a batch of resin.
Fill the mold cavity almost full with clear resin.

Using a toothpick, submerge the leaves into the resin.

These will float around a bit because they are so light weight so keep checking them and poking them back down as needed.

I'm using a second mold with some smaller shapes for the ring and earrings.
Let the resin set for 24 -72 hours until hardened.

To make the jewelry set I'm using E-6000, a bail, a necklace chain, a ring blank, and some magnetic earring backs.

Add some E-6000 to the ring blank...

Press firmly to the back of the piece and let set for 24 hours to reach maximum adhesion.

This is the ring:

I found these a while back at Wal-mart and was super excited to try them out.

I'm using a toothpick to apply the E-6000 to the earring magnet.

Press firmly to the back of the piece and let set for 24 hours to reach maximum adhesion.

The leaf covers up the magnet piece so they look like they are floating- to wear hold these in front of your ear lobe and use a second magnet for the back of the ear.

For the necklace pendant, I'm using Aanraku Silver Leaf Medium Bails. Aanraku has loads of pieces that work perfectly with resin! You can check out what they offer here: http://store.abasg.com/mm5/merchant.mvc

Add some E-6000 to the bail...

Press firmly to the back of the piece and let set for 24 hours to reach maximum adhesion.

Slide the pendant on to the chain. I love how it looks like the leaves are flying around :)

And now you have a wonderful matching gift set that looks super chic! Happy Fall :)
