Doctor Sleep Smoke Monogram

I am stoked about the release of Doctor Sleep by Stephen King!
The book is being released today! It is a sequel to the book The Shining following the all grown up Danny Torrence!
Here's the link to a video of Stephen King himself reading and except of the first chapter:

This pendant is inspired by the cover:

Here's the supplies:

I want a red background for the bezel so I'm using a paper punch...

Coat the bezel with Mod Podge. This will both glue the paper in a seal the back...

Coat the front of the paper too...

Let the Mod Podge dry and get ready for the resin. The loop on the bezel keeps the piece from lying flat so I settled it in sand to get it level.

Mix up a batch of EasyCast resin and fill the bezel...

Take a portion of the resin a color it white...

Wait for 20 minutes or so to let the resin "gel" (thicken up) then
using a toothpick, dip it in the white resin and slowly draw the initial...

The white resin may float about a bit so you may want to keep an eye on it to make adjustments as needed.
Let this set for 24- 72 hours to harden.

Once it has hardened slip it onto a necklace. I think this would make a great gift piece!
